FF. Neil "Frankie" Hall Jr., decided to dedicate himself to a Life of Service and joined the NYPD on July 18, 1996. He then transferred to Ladder 15 FDNY in Lower Manhattan on February 1, 2000. He took great pride in helping his community and loved every second of his career, especially the brotherhood he was surrounded by. He was a first responder on 09/11/01 and his firehouse, Ladder 15 /Engine 4 in Lower Manhattan, lost 14 members that day. In the wake of the 9/11 tragedy, Frankie was a part of the Search and Rescue efforts at the pile, working tirelessly while also providing support to the families of the victims.
On June 16, 2022, after being more than halfway through a 24 hour tour, Frankie unfortunately fell from more than 10 feet high in his firehouse, his head taking the brunt of the fall. He sustained a severe traumatic brain injury along with many other injuries. After hearing of Frank's injury, the Tunnel to Towers organization stepped up in ways we never knew possible, and offered help in areas our family never knew we needed. We were fortunate enough to be included in the Tunnel to Towers Foundation's Smart Home Program, which provided immediate and invaluable assistance.
This is our fourth year as a team - “Frankie’s Squad” for the NYC T2T run/walk. In past years we have raised over $25,000 in hopes that our contributions can go toward helping other first responders in their time of need. You always hear about Tunnel to Towers, but we never thought we’d ever need their help. We will forever be grateful.
