Hard to believe it's been 24 years since the tragic events of 9/11 - I was working in midtown on that day, one year out of college - and watching those events unfold with my own eyes left an indelible impact on me. Fast forward, I had the opportunity to join the Plandome Fire Department and a small group of firefighters started participating in the annual Tunnel to Towers 5K in honor of FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller - someone who strapped on his gear and ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to meet his squad at the Twin Towers - and made the ultimate sacrifice that day - in order to save others. That selflessness is something I look forward to honoring yet again this year as I run in the event for the 7th time in my firefighting gear. I would greatly appreciate your support as I look to break my personal record fundraising effort set last year of over $32,000!
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation carries forward a legacy of courage and heroism. Built upon the mantra, “While we have time, LET US DO GOOD,” the Foundation supports our nation’s fallen and catastrophically injured first responders, military heroes and their families.
I appreciate your generous support!
